Louis Vuitton showcased and launched the ‘Masters’ collection of bags, created in collaboration with Jeff Koons.
Each bag from this limited series is dedicated to a great artist. Koons transformed traditional Louis Vuitton models into kitschy art objects: on top of reproductions of famous paintings by Fragonard, da Vinci, Van Gogh, and Rubens, golden and silver surnames of the authors, as well as golden brand logos, adorn the bags.
The concept of the famous Koons exhibition ‘Gazing Ball,’ consisting of large hand-painted reproductions of great artists’ works, was applied to a whole range of Louis Vuitton products.
The collection was released on April 28th. This is the first, but certainly not the last collaboration with Jeff Koons.
